Man’s bail unopposed after axe incident

THE Frenchville man who allegedly confronted police in Mt Isa while armed with an axe on Friday has been identified as Michael Terence Trafford.

The 37-year-old appeared in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court that day on serious assault charges but did not enter a plea. Trafford's bail was not opposed by the police prosecutor and his court mention was adjourned to June 1.

The police reported Trafford was taken into custody with the use of a stun-gun during the incident.
