Mariah Carey coming to a pub near you with $250k splashed

GLOBAL superstar Mariah Carey is coming to a pub near you, with a surprise gig locked in at a suburban pub as part of her #1s tour.

The songstress has been confirmed for an unlikely appearance at the Sandstone Point Hotel, a stunning, waterfront pub across the Pumicestone Passage, on the mainland adjacent to Bribie Island.

It's a stunning follow-up to the Beach Boys, who were the first global phenomenons to play at the $30 million pub with 35ha of open space, back in 2015.

The ABC this week reported the target was for a crowd of about 10,000 at the Mariah Carey gig, which will be held on Saturday, February 3.

The hotel is reportedly also set to spend more than $250,000 on infrastructure to prepare for the gig, with tweaks to the main entry road to the venue, as well as sound and stage systems worth about $120,000.

A multiple Grammy winner, Carey has sold more than 220 million records worldwide.

She's produced hits such as Hero, One Sweet Day, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Vision of Love, We Belong Together and more.

Pre-sale ticket sales begin tomorrow for what is set to be one of the biggest performances ever in south-east Queensland to be held outside of Brisbane.
