Mariah Carey vows to keep living as a diva

MARIAH Carey will "always" be a diva.

The 'When You Believe' hitmaker may be stepping behind the camera as she directs the Hallmark Channel movie 'A Christmas Melody' but she insists she won't wave goodbye to her reputation.

She joked: "I'm still always going to be a diva in certain ways, and I don't mean that in the bad sense of the word.

"I just mean, like, if there's a makeup artist there and they don't mind touching me up while I'm directing."

The 46-year-old singer - who is also starring in the film - opened up about her relationship with James Packer, who she made her red carpet debut with last month at the New York premiere of 'The Intern'.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "I don't think either one of us thought, 'Here we are, making a debut.' He's not that guy. It was a lot for him ... I just automatically pose. I can't help it!"

When asked if she gave him any tips on posing for the paparazzi, she joked: "If I did that, I would have had to coach him instead of posing then I'd look bad in pictures."

And the pair's relationship is going from strength to strength, with Mariah previously revealing that they are having a lot of "fun".

She shared: "It's fun, I'm not gonna lie ... We were together last night, so that was fun."
