8.30am: THE Maroons squad has arrived in Rockhampton.

Well, most of them.

The squad arrived yesterday afternoon ahead of this morning's announcement of the team for the third game of this year's State of Origin.

The CQ Capras squad got a pleasant surprise last night. They were expecting to attend a normal training session, but instead of training, the local players had dinner with the Maroons.

But not all Maroons.

Renowned goal-kicker Jonathon Thurston was busy rubbing shoulders with Gladstone school students and didn't attend last night's dinner.

Fellow team mate, Daly Cherry-Evans was also absent as Manly played Parramatta last night. He will catch up with the squad on XXXX Island later today.

Keep an eye on The Bulletin website for more on the Maroons visit to the region throughout today.
