Rocky boys help QLD Schoolboys team topple NSW
THE Queensland Schoolboys under-15 touch football team has swept all before them at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide this week.
The team, including Rockhampton representatives Lachlan Crowe, Baillie List, Aaron Moore, Liam Grant and Tom Farr, and coached by Rockhampton's Phil Gyemore, remains undefeated heading into the semi-finals.
The Queensland boys have dominated the early games, racking up some big scores including a comprehensive 11-3 win against NSW in the opening rounds.
The two teams met again in the second preliminary final and again Queensland showed no mercy, downing the southerners 11-4.
Before travelling to Adelaide the Rockhampton players nominated NSW as their main rivals.
Baillie List, from Emmaus College, who is among the team's leading try scorers with 15 tries, said the Rockhampton contingent had been impressing.
"We are all playing well and so is the team," he said. "We are all getting a lot of game time."
Queensland continued their winning run yesterday, downing Western Australia 13-0 in their preliminary final. They earlier dispatched Victoria 20-0.
Queensland players will enjoy a rest day today before taking on the ACT tomorrow in their first semi-final.
"It's a rest day tomorrow and we are all really looking forward to that," List said.
"The whole team is going to Adelaide Zoo."
