Police break-up brekkie fight

ROCKHAMPTON police were called to Denham Street yesterday morning after a fight erupted between two men at the busy breakfast area.

Dressed in t-shirts and jeans, the two men wrestled each other to the ground on the corner of Quay Lane.

One of the men pinned his opponent to the bitumen in a strangle hold as worried onlookers phoned for police.

Officers arrived at the incident scene about 9.40am.

The two men, one aged 57 and the other 41, had to be separated before they were issued notices to appear in court for creating a public nuisance.

A police spokesman said the pair would appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court over the next few weeks to answer charges in relation to the incident.
