McCulkin cold case: Lawyer to seek suppression orders

THE lawyer of one of the men charged over a 40-year-old cold case triple murder says it is likely he will try to suppress details of the case being published.

Vince O'Dempsey's lawyer Terry O'Gorman said his client strongly denied any involvement in the disappearance of Barbara McCulkin and her young daughters Vicki and Leanne.

The trio are presumed dead after vanishing from their Highgate Hill home on January 16, 1974.

However on Saturday Mr O'Dempsey, 76, and Gary Dubois, 67, were each charged with three counts of murder, three counts of deprivation of liberty and two other serious offences.

Mr O'Gorman said his client would be making a bail application in the Queensland Supreme Court in the coming weeks.
