WITH A cricket bat in his clutches, Joe McGahan is unstoppable.

The cricket gods must have been shining down on Frenchville Falcons player McGahan over the weekend as he impressed with both the bat and the ball.

McGahan managed to lock in 59 runs for his Falcons squad in their successful round three Capricornia Club Challenge clash with Gladstone Brothers on Saturday before backing it up at the bowling crease.

Frenchville Falcons skipper Jason Wells praised McGahan for this diversity and said his batting expertise was fundamental in Frenchville's 167-94 victory over Brothers.

"It was a really good game and a close win that we worked very hard for," Wells said.

"Joe McGahan batted really well, probably the best he has all season.

"His timing was better than anything but he was unfortunately dismissed by a bit of a doubtful caught behind."

After McGahan's superb batting performance, Wells said Frenchville could not form any strong partnerships.

"At one stage we were two for 100 and ended up all out for 167 so the rest of our bowling wasn't too crash hot," Wells said.

On the bowling front, Wells said Brock Siegert was impressive after he took four wickets and was supported well by McGahan and Charlie Simic who also claimed four wickets.

In further games around the region, Capricorn Coast went down to the Glen at Yeppoon while Gracemere Bulls defeated Yaralla with Bulls captain Aaron Harmsworth and player Mark O'Keefe both locking in centuries.
