
Minimal crews remain on Fairy Bower Rd blaze
UPDATE 5pm: REPORTS suggest Mclaughlin St has been reopened as the blaze on Fairy Bower Rd reduces.
A spokesperson from the QFES said most crews had left the scene, but a few Gracemere crews remain.
They said the fire was initially fast moving with multiple fronts, and had initially posed a threat to surrounding structures.
The job is now in "wind down".
The blaze was attended by seven urban and two rural crews in its peak.
UPDATE 4pm: A SPOKESPERSON from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service says the fire is now burning within containment lines.
Crews have reportedly indicated they do not require any further assistance.
BREAKING 2:55pm: A VEGETATION fire has broken out on Fairy Bower Rd.
It is believed crews are going to close off Mclaughlin St on the Capricorn Highway.
The blaze started at around 1:45pm.
Crews are still at the scene, it is not believed any houses are in danger.
