Memorial at beach lookout for fatal crash victim

A MEMORIAL for 19-year-old Sippy Downs man Bailey Sibraa will be installed at the Point Cartwright lookout shelter.

Bailey's family proposed the idea shortly after the January 6 crash that claimed his life, less than 100m away on Pacific Blvd.

Pt Cartwright was one of Bailey's favourite Coast beaches, his dad Steve Sibraa told the Daily.

His mates have held vigils there in Bailey's honour and the Sibraa family visits the crash site daily.

Division 4 councillor John Connolly said a plaque would be installed within the next few weeks, and would be paid for by either himself or the Sunshine Coast Council.

"It's about doing something for the family," Mr Connolly said.

"The council are incredibly sympathetic and we're doing what we can to help."
