Men allegedly ram police while in possession of explosive

A 28-YEAR-OLD man will face court in Rockhampton this morning after a police chase led to the discovery of an improvised explosive device.

Two men were inside a vehicle which rammed a police car on Friday night, before fleeing the scene and being pursued to the Yeppen Lagoon.

The men exited the vehicle and were caught with a bag which contained the explosive device.

An explosives response team from Brisbane came out to explode the device on Saturday morning.

One man will face court today, charged with three charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one charge of willful damage, one charge of possessing an explosive device and other traffic charges.
