Mimi wants Rocky's green thoughts
CELEBRITY model Mimi Macpherson was in Rockhampton yesterday to launch a competition to find Central Queensland's top young environmentalist.
Mimi is the face promoting a new competition where the top environmentalist will win a family holiday.
“What we're looking for is the young person with the environmental concept with the best attitude, creativity and enthusiasm,” she said.
“Young Australians' views on the environment and ultimately their future, can too often be ignored.
“We want all Central Queensland school students (of all ages) to put forward their conservation ideas in any way they see fit.
“It could be a drawing, essay, photograph or video.”
Mimi said she had a real connection with environmental issues, from both a personal and business perspective.
“I've been involved with whale watching in Hervey Bay since it started in 1989,” she said.
Mimi was yesterday travelling across regional Queensland with Ramada Hervey Bay developer Tim Wright promoting the competition.
She said once all of the young people's ideas were collated she would be putting these to key government stakeholders to show just how proactive and forward-thinking Queensland students were when it came to environmental issues.
Ramada Hervey Bay is offering the young environmentalist deemed to have the best concept an all-expenses-paid trip staying at Ramada Hervey Bay.
