Missing boys found on Great Keppel Island

 

TWO 13-year-old boys missing on Great Keppel Island overnight have been located safe.

 

They were found by a local person around 7am this morning.

 

The searching had resumed this morning after they were last seen around 5pm at Clam Beach.

It is believed that the boys were intending go to the lighthouse.

 

Police were notified by concerned family members around 8.45pm when the boys had not returned.

 

It is believed the boys had no food or water with them and rugged terrain surrounds the lighthouse.

 

Police co-ordinated a search last night with assistance from air and water searchers.

 No further information is available at this point in time.
