READER'S DISCUSS: Planned Rockhampton city bypass

FEDERAL Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry (pictured) is remaining tight-lipped on a start date for the Rockhampton bypass while the Department of Main Roads says two properties along the future corridor have been purchased by the State Government.

Darryl Whyte - Goodbye Rockhampton if we are bypassed. No town has ever expanded after a bypass.

Lauren Streeter - Why would you spend all that money on the Yeppen if your now going to put in a bypass?

Dennis Diaz - If the bypass goes on motels on the Bruce Highway will suffer.

David Sjoberg - There is nothing here for people to stop and visit. Why would you bother? Bring on the bypass.

Brett McCarthy - How's a bypass going to help Rocky? There goes more money in the town.

Debbie Maclean - The bypass plan has been on the books about 20 years ago. Be interesting to see if they changed direction.
