Doors open for Mon Komo

AFTER more than 12 months of planning and construction, Redcliffe's Caribbean-themed Mon Komo Hotel is now open.

The $150 million entertainment and dining precinct is primed to become Queensland's next landmark pub.

Having already taken out the award for "Best New Development" at the 2011 Moreton Bay Tourism Awards, Kyko Group director Bill Jenkings said Mon Komo's sophisticated new hotel and function facilities would rival Brisbane's existing event and dining destinations.

With 184 luxury residential and short stay apartments including an integrated dining and retail precinct, Mon Komo also has six boutique commercial office spaces, a grand porte cochere entrance, gymnasiums, pools and lush Caribbean inspired, sub-tropical gardens.

With more than 22 years of experience in the culinary industry, the ex-Caxton Street Catering executive chef and general manager said the Mon Komo bistro and lounge bar menu focused on innovative, Caribbean infused dishes alongside traditional pub favourites, mixing quality local produce with modern flavours.

Caribbean highlights on the menu include summer infused dishes such as chilli, coriander and corn bread for starters, the must-try Chimchurri chicken burger with organic truss tomato, mozzarella, crushed avocado salsa and basil aoli or the Pasteles de congrejo - spanner crab cakes with ruby grapefruit, baby cress salad and lime, avocado and cilantro pesto.

The extensive menu also includes a range of gourmet pizzas, noodle dishes straight from 'The Wok', mouth-watering steaks from 'La Parrella de Carne' (The Grill), the freshest seafood from the bay region - and of course, irresistible desserts.

Situated at 99 Marine Parade, Redcliffe, Mon Komo is 35 minutes drive to Brisbane's CBD and close to the international airport.
