MORANBAH families and local Kindergarten kids love their library with hundreds joining in a special end of year Christmas craft and storytime on Tuesday (December 8).

Held in the outdoor stage area in the Moranbah Town Square, young children, parents and teachers enjoyed craft, live carols, story time, morning tea, and even a visit from Santa Clause in a fire truck.

Mayor Anne Baker said the enthusiasm was certainly infectious.

"This time of year is all about family and celebration," she said "it's great to see so many families enjoying the magic of Christmas at our library."

"Our libraries are a cornerstone in our communities and today is an example of this," she said.

"Over the school holidays all Isaac libraries are running Summer Reading Club themed sessions to help keep the kids entertained."

If your school age children are up for some adventure, sign up to the Summer Reading Club now and go into the draw to win one of eight Ipad Mini's.

To view Isaac Libraries full holiday program visit, http://www.isaac.qld.gov.au or call 1300 ISAACS (472 227).

The Isaac Libraries will continue their children's programs until Christmas Eve and then take a break until Monday, January 4.
