Clear skies not to be around long - more rain by Friday

THE rain was a welcome sight across Central Queensland, but it is expected to begin clearing today.

But Bureau of Meteorology technical officer Brendan Bradford said showers and storms would develop towards the end of the week, reaching Rockhampton on Friday.

Rockhampton Airport and Yeppoon recorded a total of 79mm since the rain began on the weekend.

Apart from more showers, Mr Bradford said temperatures in Rockhampton would rise to tops of 29 on Thursday and 31 on Friday, with increased humidity.
