Overwhelming support for playground at Ocean Shores
A CROWD of about 100 people attended a meeting at Ocean Shores Community Centre to rally support for a children's playground in Waterlily Park.
The plan is based on a Victorian project that involved two community and council co-funded playgrounds, constructed in just five days.
Co-facilitator Gemma Eaton from the Ocean Shores Tennis Club said the aim of the project was to create a hub for the community.
"I was very excited to get that level of support," she said.
"Our next step will be to hold a meeting and start forming working groups for the project.
"We will also have an information stand at the Ocean Shores Open Day on May 9 at the community centre."
"It was a fabulous meeting. They are a passionate community," Ms Smith said.
"After mayor Richardson's presentation I was ready to get out there and start building myself."
