Family torn apart by disappearance of Robert Martinez
A DEVASTATED Julie Martinez fights back her tears saying she fears the worst for her missing son.
"I can feel he's not with us anymore."
Mrs Martinez is the mother of missing Rockhampton man Robert Martinez, who has been missing - along with his friend Chantal Barnett - for almost a month.
Yesterday, The Morning Bulletin spoke with Mrs Martinez who said she felt like she had no hope for a positive outcome for her son.
The pair were last heard from on March 2.
She also said in the past four days it had sunken in that "this is real".
"One minute you are crying and the next minute you can't even function," she said.
"Four days ago I was looking through Facebook and it hit me."
She said her daughter, Helen, and Robert were very close.
She said they were almost like twins.
"She feels like she has lost a son, not her brother.
"Robert is the peacemaker of the family and keeps everyone together ... we have been torn apart."
Police say they are not considering the pair are dead.
Police yesterday established a scenes of crime unit at Mr Martinez's house in Berserker St. A forensic team and other officers were at the house continuing their investigations for the missing pair.
Rockhampton CIB boss Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon said police were continuing their investigations into the disappearances.
