Mothers put kids’ health before own

MORE than 90% of Australian mothers believe their children's health is more important than their own, according to new research released in the lead up to Mother's Day.

The research showed parents in Queensland overwhelmingly consider health as the most important factor when it comes to their children.

That's why Coles at Rockhampton and Yeppoon are raising crucial funds for families affected by cancer following the research that shows parents are selfless when it comes to the needs of their children.

As part of Coles' fundraising activity, Rockhampton shoppers can donate to Redkite at Coles to help provide financial and emotional support to families and their children suffering with cancer.

Redkite Ambassador Susanne Latimore said support would make a real difference to families affected by cancer.

"This Mother's Day I'll be thinking about all the other mothers I met while my son Manning was in hospital," she said.
