Police to probe fatal crash involving motorbike rider

UPDATE 6.30pm: Emergency crews have left the scene of a fatal crash southeast of Toowoomba involving a motorbike rider who was trapped under a motorhome.

Police are expected to release a statement regarding the incident tonight, which occurred on the intersection of Gatton-Clifton and Macginleys Rds at West Haldon.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services finally freed the body of the rider about 3pm, with crews using airjacks to lift up the motorhome.

Police left the scene at 5.30pm, with the Forensic Crash Unit to investigate the cause of the incident.

UPDATE 4pm: Emergency services are still trying to free the body of a motorbike rider trapped under a motorhome following a serious crash southeast of Toowoomba.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service is using airjacks to lift up the motorhome and release the rider at the scene in West Haldon, about 50 minutes away from Toowoomba.

The incident occurred on the intersection of Gatton-Clifton and Macginleys Rds, both of which are closed to the public.

Two different emergency services have confirmed the motorbike rider has died, but no further details are available.

Police have yet to confirm the fatality.

UPDATE: There are concerns for the life of a motorbike rider who was pinned under a motor home after a serious crash outside of Toowoomba.

Two rural roads southeast of Toowoomba have been closed following the two-vehicle collision on Gatton-Clifton Rd in West Haldon.

Initial reports suggested the motorbike rider was trapped under a motor home.

It is believed there was a deceased person at the scene.

However, the Queensland Police Service said it was not ready to confirm the crash was fatal.

Both Gatton-Clifton Rd and Macginleys Rd are closed to the public.

EARLIER: A motorbike rider is reportedly trapped under a motor home after a serious two-vehicle crash southeast of Toowoomba.

All emergency services have responded to the incident, which was first reported about 11.20am on Gatton-Clifton Rd in West Haldon, about 45 minutes from Toowoomba.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the motorbike rider is believed to be injured and is pinned under the mobile home.
