Mirani crash: 'The girls and I will miss him forever'

A MIRANI woman and her two daughters have been left devastated following the death of Daniel Cochrane.

Mr Cochrane, 32, died on Friday night on his way home on Mirani-Eton Rd, Mirani after the motorbike he was riding crashed.

His "soul mate" and partner Kristy Richardson and Kristy's two daughters Karah and Ella have said they will never forget the man who made such an impact on their lives.

The four shared a house together in Mirani.

"He was my soul mate," Ms Richardson said.

"I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with him.

"I loved him more than words can say and the girls and I will miss him forever."

Ms Richardson said a love of music brought the couple together.

"We met at the Kuttabul Pub and he was going to a Wolfmother concert in Airlie Beach so we met up again there," she said.

"He loved music and playing the guitar.

"His hobbies were dirt bikes and road bikes and going for bike rides with his brothers and father."

She said Mr Cochrane was originally from Upper Hutt in New Zealand.

He still has family in New Zealand which includes his father Robert, mother Coralie, brothers Jason and Aden and sister Tiffany.

Mr Cochrane was a diesel fitter by trade at a company in Mackay and had been living in Australia for about three years.
