Man killed, teenage woman fights for life

3PM: A man has been killed and a young woman is fighting for her life after a two-vehicle crash at Dalby, west of Toowoomba today.

The 43-year-old Curra man died at the scene of the crash, which occurred on the Moonie Hwy 5km south-west of Dalby.

Diversions are in place near the crash scene.

A 17-year-old woman from Weranga has been taken to Dalby Hospital in a critical condition with head and internal injuries.

A helicopter has arrived in Dalby to transport the woman to Princess Alexandra hospital in Brisbane for further treatment.

An eight-year-old boy and 64-year-old woman were also injured in the crash and taken to hospital.

A 24-year-old woman suffered a broken arm.

Dalby Fire Station captain Ian Tuppack urged drivers not to become complacent.

"Don't be frustrated or in a hurry to get to your destination," he said.

"Certainly the last couple of months have been quiet in terms of car accidents in the region, but this kind of thing is very unpredictable."

2PM: A man has been killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash on the Moonie Hwy west of Dalby.

Paramedics are treating a woman with head injuries and internal bleeding, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.

A child is also believed to have been in one of the vehicles.

The crash occurred at 11.50am about 10km west of Dalby.

The Moonie Hwy remains closed.

MIDDAY: Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash west of Toowoomba.

The crash occurred about 11.50am on the Moonie Hwy about 10km west of Dalby.

It has been reported one person has been killed and at least another two have been seriously injured in the head-on crash.

The crash has occurred near the Myall Creek Bridge.

The Moonie Hwy has been closed in both directions
