Mount Larcom youth centre reopens

MOUNT Larcom youth will celebrate the reopening of the Mount Larcom Youth Centre with a DJ and disco this Friday night.

The Mount Larcom community, together with Gladstone Regional Council, have rallied together to reopen the much-loved centre after it closed in June 2010 due to a lack of volunteers.

The centre boasts a pool table, air hockey, table tennis, Sony PlayStation and Xbox, and arts and crafts facilities and is manned by volunteers on a roster basis.

It will be open every Friday from 5pm until 10pm and Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

The reopening celebrations will feature Mount Larcom local DJ Adams, a sausage sizzle, barbecue and face painting.

Admission is $1 with all proceeds going to the Youth Centre.

For more information, or to express an interest in becoming a volunteer, contact Jackie Stratton on 0427 792 346 or 4975 1713.
