MTV annouces new Dreamworld show

MTV has announced a new live theatre-style show to run for four weeks at Dreamworld this summer.

Held three times a day at the Dreamworld studios MTV Plugs into Dreamworld - Summer Series will bring the best of MTV to a live audience.

Dreamworld CEO Noel Dempsey said there was something for everyone in the show.

"It's the union of the biggest youth brand in the world with the biggest theme park in the country," he said.

"Every Dreamworld guest will be entertained - from Boomers to Gen Xers, Gen Ys and younger."

The 30 minute show will be hosted by a yet-to-be-named DJ with Australian celebrity guests dropping by.

The show will feature extreme bike stunt work, break dancing, quiz show segments and funny pranks.

MTV Plugs into Dreamworld - Summer Series
will run from December 26, 2009 to January 22, 2010.

Show synopsis:

The craziness opens with a performer laid out on a hospital bed due to lack of MTV in the brain. A mad doctor shocks the patient back to life with an injection of a high energy mash-up of classic MTV pop songs from across the eras.

Two teams of two contestants are plucked out of the audience and the crowd is split down the middle in support as the teams take part in a cheesy over-exaggerated game show that traverses the history of MTV.
Dancers and stuntmen hype up the arena and perform highly choreographed moves while the host and a special celebrity guest commentate on a contestant dance-off that is backed by the MTV pros.

The winning team, based on accumulated points from all of the rounds, is presented with an awesome prize. They return for the daily grand final and the day’s most explosive action and breath-taking pranks.
