Mud racers ready to turn it on at Kabra

MUD RACING: Thirty-four cars will hit the track for the CQ Mudsportz Twin Track Meet on Saturday.

Drivers will compete in junior, standard, buggy and top gun classes, with racing to get under way at 1.30pm at the Kabra track.

CQ Mudsportz president Marlene Granshaw said the buggy and top guns were generally close and the junior class was always competitive.

Two juniors - Rockhampton's Samuel Schnabel and Sarina's Codee Saron - will make debuts this weekend.

Granshaw said there were more female drivers emerging on the mud racing scene, with a handful of them in action on Saturday.

Robyn Baker will make her return to the track in Dolly, her signature hot pink Hilux.

Admission is $40 a family, adults $15, children (5-15 years) $5, under-fives free.

Bar and canteen will operate.
