Murphy hits back at Lancaster's "foul play" comments

CAPRICORN Coast Independence Movement chairman Paul Lancaster has called "foul play" after One Capricorn recently engaged Newspoll in a de-amalgamation survey.

Mr Lancaster said CCIM were already the underdogs in what was shaping up to be a "David and Goliath" contest. Residents of the former Livingstone Shire will vote next month on whether to split from the Rockhampton Regional Council.

Mr Lancaster said masquerading, what he labelled telemarketing, as a community survey was deplorable.   But One Capricorn spokesman Geoff Murphy has hit back and dismissed the claims as "rubbish".

"There's no truth to the matter," he said.

"Newspoll are a reputable national survey organisation... nothing to do with telemarketing."
