New chairman takes reins at Rockhampton Jockey Club
HORSE RACING: Local real estate man Rob Carr is the new chairman of the Rockhampton Jockey Club following the resignation of Peter Boodle this week.
Mr Boodle had been chairman of the club for three years and said he would like to spend more time with his business and family having also relinquished his position on the RJC committee.
Mr Boodle oversaw the resurgence of the RJC's 100 Club which last year attracted a record number of members and the highly successful inaugural Rockhampton Racing Gala Ball in 2016 was his brainchild.
John Siganto is the new deputy chairman, replacing Mr Carr in that role, while Jeff Leaver remains treasurer.
