New details emerge following alleged attempted murder

A MAN accused of attempted murder following a Coast stabbing has been denied bail after a court was told he had a "predilection to knives".

Police allege Ryan John Morcom, 35, and Darren Christopher Jeffers, 52, were involved in the stabbing of a man in Yandina on Thursday, January 25.

It's alleged the 53-year-old victim opened the door of his Low St home and was attacked by the two men who are known to him.

He was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Morcom appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court this afternoon dressed in a medical gown, sporting a black eye.

Both men have been charged with single counts of attempted murder and enter a dwelling and commit indictable offence with Morcom also facing two counts of breaching a bail condition.

The court heard Jeffers had made admissions to police over his involvement.

Morcom - who was on bail for wounding at the time - claimed he was unaware the alleged stabbing was going to occur when they went to the victim's home.

In the police's objection to bail, it's alleged Morcom went to a disposals store and purchased the knife used in the attack on behalf of Jeffers.

Magistrate John Parker said Morcom's previous convictions for possessing knives in conduct showed a "predilection" to the weapon.

Morcom's bail was denied by Mr Park as he is a "substantial risk to the public if released on bail".

He will appear in court again on March 23.

Jeffers appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at a later date.
