New doctors make Rocky home
KATIE Fletcher and Ravi Singh are among 27 new doctors set to make Rockhampton Hospital a healthier place.
The enthusiastic recent graduates were yesterday excited about their Rockhampton challenge, having arrived in the Beef Capital.
"I am really looking forward to seeing what I can do here," Ravi said.
Katie said she was excited by the prospect of gaining vital experience and working as part of a skilled team.
Member for Rockhampton Robert Schwarten said the Bligh Government was working hard to deliver more services for Rockhampton locals.
"These new doctors will learn from our outstanding clinical teams at the Rockhampton Hospital and will benefit from their many years of wisdom and experience in caring for Rockhampton locals," Schwarten said.
"I'm not at all surprised that many junior doctors have indicated Rockhampton as their destination of choice."
The new interns will be part of the clinical team at the hospital.
Yesterday's announcement followed one last week where 30 medical students from the University of Queensland arrived to embark on a year of clinical training at Rockhampton hospital.
