New Isaac Regional Council sworn in for new term

ISAAC Regional Council mayor Anne Baker is looking forward to getting back to work after being sworn in for another term.

Cr Baker and eight councillors were sworn in at a ceremony in Moranbah on Monday.

Councillors Gina Lacey and Jane Pickels were re-elected unopposed, while Councillor Lynette Jones representing Clermont was newly-elected.

Councillor Geoff Bethel was unanimously appointed Deputy Mayor.

Cr Baker said it was a significant show of confidence from the community to be re-elected along with a largely unchanged council.

"It's humbling and pleasing to see the community's faith in council's current leadership," she said.

"We are excited to start work straight away in building a stronger region and delivering positive outcomes for our people."

Cr Bethel said he felt privileged to be nominated for the role.

"It's an honour to continue representing the Isaac, and I look forward to the challenges and progress of the next four years," he said.
