New kid on Clive Palmer's bloc

POLITICAL renegade Clive Palmer has praised the new kid in his bloc, confirming West Australian Senator-elect Zhenya "Dio" Wang will vote along party lines when he takes his seat come July.

Mr Wang will earn the third senate seat for the Palmer United Party.

Ricky Muir from the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party may not be from the same party, but will be part of the fold.

On Tuesday, Mr Palmer said the victorious West Australian will enter the Senate less than a decade after arriving in Australia from China.

"Dio's experience and understanding of Chinese cultural issues will be invaluable."

Mr Wang did not join Mr Palmer at the lectern, leaving before the conference was finished.

With the four Senate seats, the Coalition Government will be forced to negotiate if it is to pass key legislation including the scrapping of the carbon and mining taxes.
