New name for Capricorn Coast's Chemmart Pharmacy

YEPPOON Chemmart Pharmacy will soon trade under a new name.

Locals may notice a gradual change in their signage and branding elements over the next few weeks with their new name titled Yeppoon Day and Night Pharmacy.

Owner Bruce Elliot said they would cease operating as a Chemmart on June 30, with a fresh start from the beginning of the new financial year.

"The pharmacy has had a long and successful partnership with the Chemmart banner over many years, however we believe the time is right that we venture out on our own and lead our own destiny," Mr Elliot said.

"I wish to advise our valued customers and stakeholders that no other significant changes will occur."

The pharmacy will continue to open from 8am to 7pm every day of the year, except for Christmas Day and, in essence, will be always here for you.

"Our new motto, always here for you, became apparent to me as I observed the team's efforts during and immediately after Cyclone Marcia," Mr Elliot said. "Often placing the needs of the Yeppoon Community before their own or their families, the staff here continued to open and trade our pharmacy (despite being flooded and with a collapsed internal ceiling) throughout this difficult time for our community.

"It demonstrated to me that the pharmacy is more than 'Chemmart' and is always here for the community of Yeppoon and the wider Capricorn Coast area rain, hail, shine or cyclone."

Mr Elliot said they would launch a new loyalty program to replace the Chemmart Rewards system and reward regular customers and charitable organisations.

Current loyalty customers will be notified directly and can choose to convert their Chemmart Rewards into our new rewards program with no loss of value.

The staff and contact details will remain unchanged.

"I look forward to introducing you to our new brand in the coming weeks and I hope you join our staff in the excitement of the period ahead," Mr Elliot said.
