New swim race between clubs

A CHALLENGE has been put out for clubs to nominate people to compete in a new swimming race on Australia Day.

The inaugural club-to-club swim race is a new event being held at the Great Australia Day Beach Party.

The race is from the Yeppoon Life Saving Club to a buoy 200 metres offshore, then to another buoy out from the Keppel Bay Sailing Club then back to the beach for the final running leg back to the starting point.

Entrants can nominate on the day by 9.45am for the 10.30am race, in men’s, women’s, juniors or veterans’ divisions.

The entry fee of $10 goes towards trophies for winners.
