Newman predicts LNP Coalition with One Nation

FORMER Queensland Premier Campbell Newman has predicted the next Queensland Government will be a Coaltion between One Nation and the LNP.

Speaking on Sky News last night the 53-year-old told felow former Premier Peter Beattie that the result was a logical follow-on of Donald Trump's win in the United States.

"I think minimum seats they win six and it could be up to 11 and I think it's because Pauline Hanson is an older and wiser politician than 20 years ago - I think she is playing it well to date," Mr Newman said.

"And I think that people aren't telling the truth as they didn't in the United States in terms if polling.

"So, there was a poll on the weekend that said she was at 16%, well I think it's over 20.

"The next government in Queensland just while I sit today and things could change between now and then of course but at the moment I think the next government in Queensland will have to be a Coalition Government with one Nation."

Mr Newman rounded out the comment by saying Tim Nicholls may be the next Premier of Queensland however he would have to answer questions about whether or not he would deal with One Nation - and if so how closely - in the media.
