Book captures 30 years of news as Mirror celebrates

THIRTY years of news on the Capricorn Coast has been preserved for posterity with the launch of the Capricorn Coast Mirror Celebrating 30 Years book this week.

Forty supporters attended the launch at Mercure Capricorn Resort on Thursday for the unveiling of the historical publication.

The book takes a stroll through each year from 1983, offering a glimpse of times gone by.

Painstakingly compiled by the Mirror team, the book includes details of the founding owners John and Suzie Watson, a collection of highlights throughout the years, social photos, covers from the current times and scenic photos from across the Capricorn Coast.

Known as the Capricorn Coast's community newspaper, The Mirror has recorded events in the region's history and offers a glimpse of some of those special moments.

The book is on sale at the Capricorn Coast Mirror office in Yeppoon at a cost of $5 a copy.

It is also available at newsagencies on the Capricorn Coast.
