Nigel's thanks from home soil
FOLLOWING Nigel Brennan’s heartfelt press conference in Sydney yesterday morning, a close family friend has told the NewsMail he is expected to return home to Bundaberg in a week.
Although family friend Lois Skoknic said she expects Nigel’s return soon, she echoed his wishes in the press conference for the family to have some quiet time to heal and catch up.
“It’s been a very emotional time for everyone,” Ms Skoknic said.
The press conference revealed a much thinner Mr Brennan than the one who left 15 months ago, but his appreciation for those who helped him and his companion Amanda Lindhout’s release was obvious.
The 37-year-old man thanked a number of people and organisations for their roles in their release, and apologised for the “stress and hurt” to his family.
