No excuses, go for those big results in business this year

So, with January nearly over already, and with most new year's resolutions now a distant memory, what have you planned to do this year, and what progress have you made towards it already?
January is that great month where you get excited, and then lose it, all in the same 30-day period.
How do you keep that momentum up for the rest of the year?
Simple, you get yourself a plan, and something to measure yourself against (otherwise called goals).
Instead of telling you how to set goals, which you have heard about your whole business life, I thought I might use this article to let you know what TGG is doing this year, and how we are going to achieve our goals.
See over the last month, we took a long holiday to the USA, and over that time, I reflected long and hard on where the business currently is, and where I want it to be in the future.
And, it is time to think big.
TGG are a Technical Labour Hire business.
This year, not only are we going to provide labour during working hours, but our model will be to provide 24/7 support for drafting and engineering services that your site teams don't seem to get to between seven and four.
We are hosting the first ever Gladstone Safety Expo, we are developing a Reliability Engineering Consultancy element within our business, and we plan to sponsor some high profile local sporting teams.
2014 is the year of TGG.
But, why do I tell you all this, and put it out there, so publicly.
Because, that is the first rule of goal setting.
Tell the world, so that they can hold you accountable.
When you set your goals, or plan your year, tell everyone about it, so that when you see those people again, and they ask you how you are going against your goals, you have all the right answers (instead of an excuse).
If you every ask anyone about the goals that they set, and they have not achieved them, the response should simply be; "that sounds like an excuse".
It is too easy to tell and give up, and not follow through on your commitments to yourself, your business and others. Don't make excuses, make results!
