No-one left out of Heights College's Big Day Out on coast

FOR student Jack McLeod, the Heights College Big Day Out means more than just having fun and setting up activities.

It's also about leadership.

That's why the Rockhampton school holds events like this each year for their senior students, who organise the whole day for students starting from Year 7.

Jack said he and a group of classmates were assigned to setting up the tarp water slide for everyone on the day, which was held at Coolwaters Holiday Village last week and about 400 students participated.

"I just really like seeing everyone get a long and having fun; we don't want anyone sitting out," he said.

"A lot of students look forward to this day each year and it gives us a chance to show our talents and skills at coordinating things together as a team.

"A group us in Year 12 came down the day before to set it all up for everyone, which was fun too."

Other activities on the day included squid throwing, an obstacle course and two-kilometre cross country track.
