No takeaway for armed man
A YOUNG worker was left shaken after an armed bandit, waving a large knife, attempted to rob a Chinese takeaway store in Rockhampton on Tuesday night.
Police said a man carrying a knife with a 20-centimetre blade tried to rob Thanh Chinese Kitchen on Gladstone Road.
Detective Inspector Jon Wacker said the attacker exchanged words with the worker before the store owner came out and the intruder fled on foot.
Inspector Wacker said no money was stolen and no one was injured.
The man was last seen running down Gladstone Road.
Police describe the man as 175 centimetres tall and wearing a multi-coloured piece of cloth over his face.
Further details were not available and police were yesterday afternoon still waiting to talk to the worker.
This is the second time a man wielding a knife has attempted to rob the Chinese takeaway store in 18 months.Recent robberies
