Long-time member's grandson scores role in new production
REGULAR Yeppoon Little Theatre attendants will recognise long time member Al Wilkins.
Al has acted and directed in many a production and most recently starred as Plod in Inspector Drake and the Black Widow late in 2015.
Talent and a passion for performing obviously runs in the family with Al's grandson, Caleb Bartlett auditioning and securing a part in the theatre's current production, Mr Melancholy.
Mr Melancholy is a full length play by Australian post-modern absurdist playwright, Matt Cameron.
Caleb plays Ollie, one of three hermits living in solitude (together) on an island who are joined by a washed up runaway circus clown.
With a strong turnout of young actors to the auditions back in January, Mark decided to stage this play with a youthful cast.
Al has joined with director Mark Alston as co-director and acting coach for Mr Melancholy.
He is working closely with grandson, Caleb and the other young cast members, Jordana Smith, Madeleine Bell and Josh Bicanic to hone their performing skills.
Members of Yeppoon Little Theatre are very excited about their first production for 2016.
