Man dies in Agnes Water crash

POLICE have confirmed a man is dead after a head-on collision this morning near Agnes Water, south of Gladstone.

Two children, aged three and seven, are both in a critical condition.

Police are still on scene.

The fatality is the first on the region's roads during the holiday period.

Today four other people were also involved in a two vehicle collision near Deepwater, south of Gladstone, in the morning. Three were transported to hospital.

One person suffered a broken arm and one had head injuries, police said.

Meanwhile, a woman suffered back injuries in a single vehicle rollover near Calliope, south of Gladstone, this morning. She was the only passenger in the accident.

Gladstone Sergeant Dave Mooney said motorists should drive to suit conditions rather than the speed limit.

In tomorrow's Morning Bulletin we feature a full wrap of the Christmas traffic operation for the Rockhampton region.
