HOLDEN'S new European-sourced performance sedan, the Insignia VXR, has arrived with a price tag of $51,990.

The German-built, all-wheel-drive model is known as the Opel Insignia OPC in Europe - and this is the facelifted version of the model sold in Australia in 2012 and 2013 before Opel made a hasty retreat.

The 2015 Holden-badged Insignia VXR is the latest entrant in Holden's planned product onslaught - following Astra and Cascada - as it targets 24 major model launches over the next five years.

The Insignia VXR features an Australian-made 2.8-litre V6 turbocharged engine good for 239kW and 435Nm of torque, six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive all-wheel-drive technology and a FlexRide chassis control system.

Tech features includes a debut for Holden's Next Generation MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, two eight-inch digital display screens, adaptive forward lighting, side blind spot alert, adaptive cruise, lane change alert and auto emergency braking.

As standard, the Insignia VXR receives 20-inch alloys, heated Recaro leather front seats, rear view camera, dual-zone climate control and navigation.
