House gutted by fire, traffic diversions in place

A HOUSE has been gutted by fire in Brisbane's inner south.

At least one lane of Old Cleveland Rd at Lilly St remains closed.

Only two firefighting crews remain on scene and four crews have since returned to the station.

There has no been no official confirmation that the fire has been extinguished.

Firefighters were called to the single-storey home on the corner of Old Cleveland Rd and Lilly St in Greenslopes around 7.20am.

A primary search of the house took place but paramedics say there were no patients for them at the moment.

Queensland Police has shut one lane of Old Cleveland Rd and delays are expected as peak hour continues.

Commuters were asked to avoid the area.
