OVER 300 people and their pooches stepped up the fight against animal cruelty at the RSPCA Million Paws Walk this morning.

The event was held at North Rockhampton's Rigarlsford Park, with funds raised going to fighting animal cruelty and look after animals in care.

Rockhampton's new RSPCA Regional Inspector Natalie Aitken said she was pleased with the number of people who turned out to support the event.

She said it was good to see the Rockhampton community come together for a good cause.
