Palmer "absolutely" denies being Qld Nickel shadow director
FEDERAL MP Clive Palmer says he "absolutely" did not act as a shadow director at the failed Queensland Nickel, but that he was part of a committee that approved expenditure at the company.
The ABC's Four Corners program has revealed a string of inter-company payments made by Queensland Nickel to other Palmer companies in the months before it collapsed.
It also revealed fresh evidence of Mr Palmer's role in approving expenditure at the company, at times when he was not a listed director.
Queensland Nickel was the manager of a joint venture between two of Mr Palmer's other businesses, QNI Metals and QNI Resources.
Immediately after the program aired, Mr Palmer told Lateline he made decisions about Queensland Nickel's expenditure as a member of the joint venture committee, which was set out in a "contractual relationship between the company and the joint venture parties".
