Motorbike rider in critical condition

UPDATE 5PM: A 47-year-old man is in a critical condition after a crash this morning on Nebo Rd. 

The man was riding a motorbike when it and a car driven by an 81-year-old woman collided near the intersection with Schaefer St. 

A Mackay Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman said the man had multiple fractures and would stay at the Base hospital overnight. 

The woman was admitted to the same hospital in a stable condition. She will remain in hospital overnight. 

UPDATE: TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash in West Mackay this morning. 

A Queensland Ambulance Spokesperson said a man in his 30s was in a stable condition but had sustained arm injuries and suspected leg injuries. 

No details were provided concerning the second person. 

INITIAL: PARAMEDICS are on the scene of a motorcycle and vehicle crash in West Mackay.

A statement from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the incident, which happened on Schaefer Street and Nebo Road, happened at about 10am.

A police spokesperson said north-bound traffic on Nebo road is blocked with surrounding areas likely to be impacted.

It is unclear if anyone has been injured.

No further information was provided.
