Passenger critically injured after falling from moving ute

A 44-YEAR-OLD woman has been critically injured during a traffic incident in Middlemount overnight.

At around 1.30am, the woman, who was a passenger in a utility, fell from the vehicle while travelling along the Fitzroy Development Road.

She was transported to Dysart Hospital, before being airlifted to Townsville Hospital.

The 35-year-old man who was driving the vehicle is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The circumstances around the incident are being investigated by police.
