Passenger ejected in Bruce Hwy rollover

A CRASH victim is clinging to life in a Brisbane hospital after being thrown from a four-wheel-drive which rolled on the Bruce Hwy at Rosemount.

The man was one of four Korean nationals, aged in their 20s, who were injured when their car left the northbound lanes of the highway about 2km from the Bli Bli exit about 1.30pm Saturday.

Nambour Forensic Crash Investigation Unit officer-in-charge Sherryn Klump said a man who was driving a black sedan had contacted police yesterday and was interviewed this morning.

Sergeant Klump said police were calling on any motorists who saw a black sedan being driven erratically in the northbound lanes of the Bruce Hwy between the Maroochydore Rd intersection and the Bli Bli Rd intersection about 1.30pm Saturday to come forward.

She was particularly interested in speaking with anyone who might have had dash cam footage of the area at the time.

"There is definitely no collision between the two," Sgt Klump said.

The ejected passenger was flown from Nambour General Hospital to Royal Brisbane Hospital where grave concerns are held for his health.

The driver is in a critical but stable condition in Nambour and the other two passengers are described as being in a stable condition.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
