Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is a people-mover with flair
THE future has arrived. Not only in styling, but technology.
Citroen is rightfully sprouting the credentials of its sharp looking new Grand C4 Picasso people-mover which can automatically park itself, has a panoramic 30.5cm HD screen, blind-spot warning system and it is the first five-star diesel on the Federal Government's Green Vehicle Guide.
Pricing has risen for the new-generation Picasso, it's $4500 more expensive than the outgoing "Seduction" diesel model at $43,990.
However, Citroen has added an estimated $9000 worth of extra features.
There is only one model in the line-up, and one trim. Although there are options available.
The Grand C4 Picasso is the first Citroen model to be fitted with the new BlueHDi turbo diesel engine which complies with the Euro 6 standard.
Using a Selective Catalytic Reduction system allows Citroen to sharply reduce NOx emissions which often drags down diesel scores despite being thrifty in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
Carting the family around won't hurt you at the bowser, with the Picasso forecast to average less than five litres for every 100km.
Standard gear includes a 30.5cm panoramic high-definition screen along with a 17.7cm multi-function touch-screen which has controls for the phone, stereo, dual-zone climate controlled air-con, sat nav and driving aids.
There is also a 360-degree camera which has an automatic parking function as well as blind-spot monitoring system, keyless entry with push-button start, panoramic glass sunroof along with second row window blinds and a child surveillance mirror.
Among the options are $1500 for 18-inch Python Alloy wheels, electric tailgate $1000, directional bi-xenon headlights $2000 and part-leather seat trim for $2500 which also comes with tray tables for the backs of front seats along with massage function for the front seats.
Full leather trim costs $5000.
There is also a $2000 Drive Assist pack which incorporates lane departure warning, smart beam function, radar cruise control and anti-collision warning.
